

Biography

Alexandros Chersoniotakis is a Dutch-Greek pianist and composer whose musical journey began in Crete and has evolved through jazz and improvisation at Dutch conservatories.From Keyboard to Jazz PianoAlexandros started taking keyboard lessons at the age of seven at the Centre for Music in Roosendaal under the guidance of Pieter van Oosterhout. After five years, he transitioned to piano and discovered his passion for improvisation. At the age of nine, he attended a masterclass with Bert van den Brink, the blind Dutch jazz pianist, which fundamentally shaped his fascination for jazz.Codarts and ConservatoryAt the age of twelve, Alexandros was accepted into Codarts Rotterdam for the jazz piano program under Walter Bertram. He regularly performed with bands and fellow students at festivals and recitals. Since his seventeenth year, he has been pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Piano at Fontys Academy of the Arts in Tilburg, where he has established himself as both a performer and composer.CurrentThis year, Alexandros joined the Brabant Youth Jazz Orchestra. With several original compositions to his name, he blends jazz influences with a personal, Mediterranean artistic identity.
